Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Marbold

Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Marbold, 91, was called home Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1925 in Springfield the son of Benjamin and Rose Yung Marbold.

Ben was preceded in death by three sisters, Anita and Frances Marbold, and Dorothy VanDyke, and one brother, Henry Marbold.

Ben met his loving wife, Blanche Cincebox, at John W. Hobbs where they both worked for seven years. They married on June 5, 1949. He then worked for Lloyd’s Cleaners for 20 years. Ben later retired from the Department on Transportation after 12 years of employment.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Linda (Dorse) Taylor and Connie Marbold Walker; four grandchildren, Scott (Michele) Johnson Kimberly (Peter) Orlebeke, Jeffery Walker, and Benji Taylor; five great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Decker of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 from 5 till 7 p.m. at Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon. Services will be Wednesday at the funeral home at 10 a.m. with Rev. David VanBebber officiating. Burial will be at Brush Creek Cemetery.
