Monica Waltrip Gumm Obituary

Monica Lou Waltrip Gumm, 65 of Virden, formerly of Auburn passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at her home.

She was born April 26, 1954 in Springfield, the daughter of Norman “Wally” and Carolyn Yvonne Watkins Waltrip. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barbara and a daughter, Jennifer.

Monica loved to garden and cook food. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her dogs.

Surviving are one son, Jake (Violet) Gumm; two grandsons, Blake and Brandon Schutte Gumm; one granddaughter, Grace Gumm; two brothers, Donald Mark (Karen) Waltrip and Steve (Joan) Waltrip; seven nieces and nephews, Steph, Mike, Angie, Don, Kim, Kate and Kara.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
