Terry B. Brown

Terry B. Brown, Sr., 72 of Auburn passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1944 in Moberly, MO, the son of Carl and Virginia Owens Brown.

He married Beverly Maupin on June 23, 1962.  They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Donna Brown and Carlene White.

Terry, known as Big T or Papa to so many, had a generous heart and would welcome anyone who needed a home, a listening ear or shoulder to lean on, with open arms.  It was his life’s happiness to see all of children and grandchildren enjoying themselves.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was incredibly proud to be a Mason and a Shriner for 32 years.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by one son, Terry, Jr (Sara) of Auburn;  one daughter, Lonnie (Trent) Phares of Westfield, IN; one brother, Bill (JoEllen) Brown of Moberly, MO; one sister, Charlene (Roger) Ferguson  of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Brandon Brown (Katie Bridwell), Tanner Brown (Kelsey Eberlin), Taryn Brown, Blayne Brown, Gavin and Gabe Phares; great-grandchildren, Noah and Alexa Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, honorary grandchildren and his beloved dog, Duke.

Cremation rites were accorded.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept 30, 2017 from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. at Terry and Beverly’s home, 3745 Moose Cry Road, Auburn.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis or charity of your choice.
