Richard Lee Landers, 65, of Auburn, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 surrounded by family at Auburn Nursing and Rehab.
He was born July 9, 1947 in Springfield the son of Wilbur and Grace Dambacher Landers. He married and divorced Jody Harden. He later married Karen Louise Gasen on October 13, 1993 and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2009. Richard was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald.
Richard Lee graduated from Auburn High School in 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Army and did an apprenticeship for Bricklayers Local 4, Springfield, IL and was currently a member of Bricklayers Local 8, Illinois. He was an Ancient Free and Accepted Mason, Knight Templar, and Shriner. He was a member of Ark and Anchor Lodge No. 354, Royal Arch Masons Chapter 132, Royal and Select Master of No. 31, ST. Omer Commandrey No. 30, and a member of Ansar Shrine. Further, he was a board official for Divernon Sportsmen’s Association. Richard was a lifelong fisherman.
Surviving are his three children, Richard Eric (Becky) of Union, KY, Ronald Marc (Jeanie) of Auburn, IL, and Lisa Marie (Matthew Whisler) of Virden, IL; ten grandchildren; and one brother, Ray (Billie Sue) Landers of Auburn.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Masonic services will be conducted by the Ark and Anchor Lodge #354 at 8 p.m. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
