Mary Sinclair Jessup

Mary Sinclair Jessup, 94, of rural Virden, died on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at her home.

Mary was born June 9, 1923 in Divernon, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Inglis. 

She married Lewis F. Jessup on April 20, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2009.  Also preceding her in death was her eldest daughter and her husband, Margaret and Charles Jackson, sister, Jessie Drury and sister-in-law, Henrietta Ladage.

Mary graduated from Divernon High School in 1942. She was a farm wife.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Divernon. 

Mary is survived by her son, Fred (Margaret Ann) Jessup of Divernon; three daughters, Mary Jessup (Fletcher Farrar) of Springfield, Bonnie (Tom) Dickey of Auburn and Karen (Harry) Heier of Carol Stream; nine grandchildren, Kurt (Jennifer) Jackson, Chet (Diva) Jackson, Josh (Shanna) Dickey, Kathleen Dickey, Annie, Abbie, Emily and Charlie Jessup and Hannah Heier; six great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; several step-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 pm till 7 pm, Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon.  Services will be at 10:30 am, Friday at the funeral home.   Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church, Divernon or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
