I first met Al in 1987 during a EMS Instructor Trainer course he taught. I have since had the great pleasure of working with Al at Dunns Ambulance. No words can express the loss to the EMS community, and the countless people he taught and touched through the years. No one can begin to describe the impact he made in EMS. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lewin family. Doc, rest in peace, your work here is done.

Donna, Kim, and Alyssa I am keeping all of you in prayer at this time. I always remember how great an instructor Al was teaching the scouts CPR. He kept their interest at a time when many did not know the importance of his lesson. He was a man of great faith and he will be missed.

Al was a gentle, caring and compassionate man. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Al during our respective careers with the Illinois State Police. Al brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Illinois State Police and made everyone around him better for knowing him. Rest In Peace.
