Gene E. Crowl

Gene E. Crowl, 71, of Rochester, formerly of Pawnee passed away Friday, July 28, 2017.
He was born June 9, 1946, in Springfield, the son of the late Van and Mildred Bennett Crowl and was raised on a farm near Pawnee, IL. 
Gene married Jill L. Murphy on Feb. 9, 1968.
Gene served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Haddo SSN 604. He retired from the IUEC Local 55/92 as an elevator mechanic. He was a member of the Peoria Base SubVets and New City Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jill of 49 years; one daughter, Leigha (Cliff) Gulyash of Cerro Gordo; two sons, Scott Crowl of Tuscola and Branden (Jennifer) Crowl of Auburn; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Sandra) Crowl and Wayne (Janice) Crowl; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his dog, Otis.
Cremation Rites were accorded.
Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until time of memorial service at 4 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Rev. Jim Phillips officiating. Military Services will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.
