Frank R. Sanders, Jr.

Frank R. Sanders, Jr., 83, of Virden passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1933 in Auburn, the son of Frank and Angeline Foley Sanders, Sr.  He was preceded by one son, Rickie Sanders and two daughters, Angie and Patricia Sanders.

Frank married Rose Hofstetter on July 2, 1988 in Washington, IL.

Frank served in the U.S. Navy.  He retired from Caterpillar in 1994.

Surviving are his wife, Rose; two daughters, Rose Marie of Virden and Annette Marie of Greenville, OH; one son, Harold Sanders of Lincoln; one grandson, Tony Sanders of CT; one brother, Tony Sanders of Springfield; three sisters, June Jopelin of Springfield, Doris Carey of Rushville and Elizabeth Ulinski of Riverton; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn from 2pm till 4pm.  Services will be Monday at the funeral home at 10:45am with Rev. Martin Kaufmann officiating.  Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield with military honors performed by the Interveteran Burial Detail.
