Florence M. Sample

Florence M. Sample, 97, of Auburn, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at Eastland Retirement Community.

She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Auburn, the daughter of James and Mabel Dupy MacMurdo.

She married Paul Sample on Dec. 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1985.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Ramsey and Eileen Ensel, and four brothers, Robert, Gerald, Alfred Owen and Don.

Florence graduated from Auburn High School in 1938. She was a former member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder.

She was a former member of the Auburn Woman’s Club and was a former election judge.  Florence volunteered at Parks Memorial Home for several years.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till time of services at 12 noon Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn with Rev. Brian Caughlan and Rev. David Van Bebber officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Medical Center Burn Unit.
