Clemence "Clem" C. Guthrie

Clemence “Clem” C. Guthrie, 96 of Girard passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Heritage Manor, Carlinville.

She was born Sept. 3, 1921 in West Frankfort, IL, the daughter of Henry and Elise Dewimille Couturiaux and step-father, Frank Klier.

She married Glenn Guthrie, Sr. in 1940 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2008.  Also, preceded in death by two brothers, Clement Couturiaux and Eugene Couturiax.

Clemence worked at Lincoln Ordinance during WWII.  She was an audit supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service retiring in 1982.

Surviving are her son, Glenn E. “Bill” (Rebecca) Guthrie of Brighton; two grandchildren, Carrie Guthrie (companion, Odis Robinson) and Mark (Joann) Guthrie; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Olah; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1pm till time of services at 2pm, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Ryan Nottingham officiating.  Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
