Betty L. Smith

Betty L. Smith, 85, of Divernon passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1931 in Lincoln the daughter of Orville and Gladys Schmitgen Howerton.

Betty married Robert Smith and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Comstock.

She was a member of Divernon United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathryn (Gary) Hatalla of Indianapolis, IN, Patricia (Kenneth) Lowe of Hinesville, GA, and Paige Smith of Justin, TX; one son, Michael (Deann) Smith of Justin, TX; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren;  two brothers, Franklin (Pat) Howerton and William (Marion) Howerton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon with Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Divernon United Methodist Church.
